Remember this little boy? Danny Stein, 2, was born with a defective heart.
His fondest wish was to meet and sing with X-Factor star Chris Rene.
We learned Friday from Stein's family that the little boy died.
About three weeks ago, Danny received a device that pumped for his malfunctioning heart, but shortly thereafter he suffered two major strokes and never recovered. He would have been three years old next month.
His aunt says Rene, the X-Factor star's mother and his fans have been tremendously supportive in the days since Danny's death.
Rene has a son of his own around the same age.
FOX 29's Bruce Gordon provided our coverage of the little boy's wish and his special morning with Rene in this video report.
Danny's family had high praise for the care and concern shown by the doctors and nurses at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
