Posted: Updated:
PHILADELPHIA -

The city Medical Examiner's Office has determined two men have died as a result of the recent heat wave, which brings the total number of heat-related deaths in Philadelphia to six for the summer.

Jeff Moran, from the Philadelphia Department of Public Health, said a 53-year-old and 62-year-old man had both died Friday as a result of heart disease and heat exposure.

The men had both been found in rooms without air conditioning or open windows. The deaths are the second and third for the current heat wave. An elderly man had died from heat-related reasons on Sunday.
