House by house, apartment by apartment, and business by business; power made a steady comeback to a majority of Atlantic City Electric customers this weekend.
Officials with the utility provider said crews restored power to about 99 percent of those that lost it to last weekend's powerful storms.
FOX29 met a few people Saturday that said they got power back, but lost it temporarily as utility crews edged their way to full restoration.
That period in the dark forced some like Ray Easterday to go to the Atlantic County Police Training Center where volunteers were handing out packages of ice to help people stay cool.
"My in-laws are on the same street and they don't have a generator so I'm getting ice and water," he said.
Meanwhile Atlantic City Electric had crews come in from as far away as Texas to get power restored.
