At 9:30pm Monday evening, a man in a wheelchair was crossing the intersection of Route 30 and Pennsylvania Avenue in Atlantic city when he was struck by a car.
The man, identified as 45 year-old Daniel Tavarez, was in the crosswalk when he was hit by the vehicle. The driver fled the scene following the accident.
Police later found the vehicle involved in the deadly crash, but it was unoccupied. Authorities did speak to the owner of the vehicle. No charges have been filed.
