Only On Fox - Catering Hall Fails To Fully Refund Bride

Dolly Ferbee Snipes was
planning to marry off her daughter, Dominique, this past Friday at Romano's Catering hall in Juniata. The family booked the hall back in March of 2011.
Last summer, less
than 6 months after they booked the wedding, Dominique's fiance died from
diabetes. Although the family was forced
to cancel almost a year before the event, Dolly says they were told that, "My daughter should never have signed the contract." She went on to tell the hall that, "If he wouldn't have died, we would have been
there."
Their contract states
that a cancellation may be made with written notice from the family. When Romano's received their letter the wedding coordinator signed off that they
would get a full refund - if Romano's could book another event on
that date.
On Friday, Dolly went
to Romano's and sure enough, she found another wedding going on in the same
ballroom they had booked.
The family has yet
to receive the full $3,400 refund. They have not heard back from Romano's.
Fox 29 did stop by Romano's Tuesday afternoon to ask about their cancellation policy and
also about Dominique's situation, and were told their wedding coordinator was
not in.
On Wednesday morning, the owner of Romano's issued the following statement to Fox 29:
"As the owner of Romano's Catering, I
was not available on Monday after working all weekend. Our full intention has
always been to fully refund our client as expressed in the signed letter that
she received. One of romano's representatives discussed this with her on Monday
and told her that the issue would be resolved on Wednesday once the owner
returned because only he can sign the checks. I cannot believe this is news
because it was not resolved the Monday following the party. I am truly
disappointed that as an upstanding business in this community for 27 years that
a news team has aired a video without even discussing or verifying anything
with management"
