NEW YORK (AP) -- Occupy marchers with guitars are marking the 100th birthday of the late songwriter Woody Guthrie with a Manhattan rally. It's called Occupy "Guitarmy". They ended their 6-day march from the Liberty Bell in Philadelphia on Wednesday afternoon in Zuccotti Park. The lower Manhattan park was the center of the Occupy movement till police broke up the encampment last November. This past weekend, the musicians participated in the National Gathering of the Occupy movement in Philadelphia. Hundreds of people shared views about social injustice and income inequality. Guitarmy members followed a route to New York through Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Along the way, they live-streamed, blogged and tweeted. Guthrie died in 1967. His 100th birthday is July 14.
