PHILADELPHIA -

Philadelphia rapper Beanie Sigel has been sentenced to two years in prison for failing to pay more than $728,000 in federal income taxes, authorities say.

Sigel, whose real name is Dwight Grant, was sentenced Thursday for failing to file federal income tax returns, the U.S. Justice Department said in a news release.

The 38-year-old who now lives in Lansdale, Pa., pleaded guilty to the charge on Aug. 9, 2011.

He has been ordered to report to prison on Sept. 12.

According to the charges, Sigel earned more than $3.2 million between 1999 and 2005, but he paid just $10,000 in taxes.

The judge on the case ordered Sigel to pay all taxes, penalties, and interest as determined by the Internal Revenue Service and to fully cooperate with the IRS, which Grant has failed to do, to-date, officials said in a news release.

It was a soupy start today. We can expect many clouds, some sun, lots of humidity, and a chance of pop up showers any time. At least it'll be warmer: High around 80-degrees today.

The weather remains unsettled through most of the work week. Warm temps stick around, too. And we do mean stick...because it'll be humid, too.

By Thursday a cold front moves by bringing more rain.  It will also bring drier and cooler weather by Friday as we finally clear out.
