PORTLAND, Ore. -

Nike responds to the Penn State investigators' report by removing legendary football coach Joe Paterno's name off of its child care center building.

Nike's president and CEO Mark Parker released a statement Thursday saying he's deeply saddened by the reports that top Penn State officials allegedly knew about assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky's lewd act with boys.

And that Paterno convinced them to conceal the information from law enforcement.

Parker says he has decided to change the name of the Joe Paterno Child Development Center.

A building at the Nike World Headquarters that was named in honor of the Nittany Lions' coach.

The building housed care for about 200 children between ages six weeks and 5-years-old.

The name is set to be removed off the building Thursday afternoon.
