PHILADELPHIA -
A SEPTA bus driver is in big trouble. He's charged with trying to sell pot worth close to a quarter-million dollars on his lunch break.
Yves Daudier, 43, who has residences in Yeadon, Pa., as well as Sewell, N.J., was arrested Thursday at a self-storage facility on the 2200 block of Island Avenue in Philadelphia and is listed as the leasee for a storage locker at that location.
Officials say he used the lunch break to pick up 100 pounds of high-grade marijuana and planned to sell it to undercover officers.
The Pennsylvania State Attorney General's Office says Daudier, at the time of his arrest, was in full SEPTA uniform and indicated to agents that he was cleaning out his storage locker during his lunch break.
A search of his vehicle resulted in the seizure of 104 pounds of marijuana, bundled in two large bales and valued at $215,000, along with several large zip-lock bags, authorities said. Agents also reported seizing a large scale along with an electronic money counter.
Agents also seized a Breitling watch worth several thousand dollars, which Daudier claimed to have "found" on the bus, as well as paperwork for the intended lease of a Bentley luxury car in the storage locker, a news release from the attorney general's office states.
A total of $10,000 in cash and a semi-automatic pistol were seized from Daudier's home in New Jersey.
Attorney General Linda Kelly said Daudier's arrest is part of an ongoing state, local and federal effort to address drug trafficking throughout the greater Philadelphia area.
He's charged with conspiracy, possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, criminal use of a communications facility and knowing and intentional possession of a controlled substance.
SEPTA told FOX 29 News late Friday afternoon, "We were aware of the investigation and have been cooperating with authorities and will take the necessary action at the appropriate time."
