Rock Legend Roger Waters Brings The Wall To Philly

PHILADELPHIA -

Legendary British rocker Roger Waters brought his epic show The Wall Live to Philadelphia's Citizens Bank Park Saturday night, playing to a sold out crowd of more than 43,000 people.

Known for such classics as "Another Brick In The Wall" and "Comfortably Numb", the live adaptation of Pink Floyd's 1979 album featured stunning explosions, puppets, props and graphics.  The images were projected onto a mammoth 240-foot-wide and 35-foot-tall wall that spanned virtually the entire width of the park.

Outside, one could barely find a parking space as Floyd fans tailgated several hours before the show, almost as if going to a football game.

Bassist Waters wrote the majority of The Wall which deals with themes of isolation and abandonment, releasing it in 1979. It has since become a fixture in the world of progressive rock, even reaching 87 on Rolling Stone's list of The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.

Waters left Pink Floyd in 1985.  Members David Gilmour, the now-late Richard Wright and drummer Nick Mason carrying on the band for several years after Waters' departure.
