Sewell Man Busted For Impersonating An Officer

Posted: Updated:

A Sewell man was been arrested for impersonating a police officer.

53-year old Kenneth Di Luigi was arrested at his home in Gloucester County following a three week investigation into complaints that a suspicious looking car was driving erratically on the AC expressway.  Complainants stated the car looked like a police car.  They also said Di Luigi was attempting to pull them over.

Troopers impounded DiLuigi's green Ford Crown Victoria which was equipped with emergency lights.

DiLuigi was charged with Impersonating a Police Officer and is currently being held at the Gloucester County jail.

The State Police want to remind motorists to take the following actions if they are suspicious about the bona fides of an unmarked police car trying to stop them:

-Slow down and put on your flashing hazard lights. This indicates to the police officer that you acknowledge their presence and are not eluding them.

-Contact 9-1-1. Give them your location and describe your concerns.

-Stop your vehicle in a well lit area with people around.

(Note: Most unmarked police vehicles conducting traffic enforcement are driven by uniformed officers.)
