The Montgomery County District Attorney's Office and Abington Township Police announce the arrest in murder of an Abington resident on Tuesday night.
Abington Police received a report just after 9:30pm Tuesday of a shooting on the unit block of North Hills Avenue in Abington Township. Police arrived on scene but were told the victim, William Butler, was transported to Abington Hospital by a private vehicle. Butler died shortly after from his gunshot wound.
Montgomery County Detectives and Abington Township Police interview numerous witnesses and authorities were told there was an ongoing dispute between the victim and Andre Dula. Witnesses say that the defendant and the victim have an altercation. Dula was then said to have pulled out a handgun while Butler fled. Witnesses reported Dula point the gun at Butler and three shots were heard being fired.
Andre Dula has been charged with First Degree Murder and other related charges. He is currently at Montgomery County Correctional Facility and held without bail. Dula will have a preliminary hearing on Wednesday, July 25th.
