Police are investigating a deadly home invasion that occurred overnight in the city's West Oak Lane section.
They say a woman knocked on the door asking to using the phone at the home, located on the 6700 block of North Gratz Street.
When the 84-year-old homeowner answered, two men forced their way inside, killing his 43-year-old son.
"They ran right to the second floor and shot the victim. We know at least seven shots were fired because of ballistic evidence, and the evidence also indicates that at least two firearms were used," Chief Inspector Scott Small said.
All three of the suspects got away, for now. Police said they do not have a motive at this time.
