AURORA, Colo. -
The accused gunman in the movie massacre in Aurora, Colo., reportedly sent a notebook to a University of Colorado psychiatrist, and inside were chilling details foreshadowing the horrific event.
FOX's Mike Tobin explains in an exclusive report that two law enforcement sources confirm the accused gunman sent the notebook to the psychiatrist before the attack.
One of the sources says the notebook was quote: "full of details about how he was going to kill people."
The sources say it was never delivered, and it's unclear exactly how long the notebook sat in the mailroom.
According to one of the sources, police and federal agents were called to the building on the University of Colorado Medical Campus in Aurora on Monday.
A psychiatrist there, who is also a professor at the school, said he received a package believed to be from the suspect, James Holmes.
That package turned out to be harmless and from someone else.
But a search of the campus services' mailroom turned up another package sent to the psychiatrist, this one with Holmes' name on it.
Law enforcement sources say inside the notebook were "drawings of what he was going to do."
The illustrations depict a gun-wielding stick figure "blowing away" other stick figures.
The news comes as the first funeral of one of the 12 victims was held.
Gordon Cowden, 51, was laid to rest in Denver on Wednesday afternoon. The family requested privacy for the service.
The Aurora community is also making a push to get the media to stop naming the shooter and stop showing his images on TV.
Families of the victims fear the media attention feeds into the accused shooter's desire to be infamous.
The accused gunman makes his next court appearance on Monday. The judge has ruled no cameras will be allowed inside the courtroom for the hearing, Tobin reported.
