An Oakdale daycare provider is in trouble for putting the children she's supposed to protect in possible danger.
Jennifer Goldetsky had her daycare license temporarily suspended, and she is charged with child endangerment and neglect for locking three children in a shed behind her house in the middle of winter.
Investigators say when social workers stopped by Goldetsky's daycare back in February, she tried to hide kids so the county wouldn't find out she was taking care of more kids than she is licensed for.
She not only asked a parent who is inside to leave with her daughter and two other children, but also locked three boys – all between 4 and 5-years old – in the shed for 45 minutes with no shoes or jackets.
"If these allegations are true, it boggles my mind how someone could do that just to maintain their license, frankly," said Frank Fink with the Washington County Sheriff's Office.
Social workers had just cited Goldetsky a day earlier for her daycare being overcapacity, having an infant who isn't sleeping in a crib and for a worker who had not received proper training in SIDS, or shaken baby syndrome.
The Department of Human Services has until August 1 to decide whether she'll get her license back, or whether it will be permanently revoked.
