With signs reading"Wildwood In Crisis: No RV's On Our Beach."
And shirts that say "Eyesore On The Shore"
The message is loud and clear, some Wildwood condo owners don't want an RV park, parking in front of their beach front property.
"What's it going to look like having these RVs parked here
Robert Grandinetti is president of the Wildwood Ocean Towers homeowners association.
He'd have a birds-eye view of the RV park from his 6th floor condo.
The mobile home park is part of this summer's month long "Wildwood Beach Festival" that will also include music and youth sporting events.
Ian Cairns heads up the festival and plans to expand it over the next five years.
"Give us a chance and let us prove we can be asset to community."
City leaders say the beach festival with all its amenities should help improve property values. But residents say that RV component won't help at all.
"I don't know how it drives property value up. They have to explain that to me, " laughed Grandinetti. "That's a joke."
And property values aren't the only concerns
Safety! Safety! Safety!" emphasized resident Bruce Balady.
That's because to get to their parking spaces between designated posts, the RVs will have to cut across paths where families walk with their kids in tow.
"Do we have to wait until someone gets killed before someone says you're right it is dangerous," said Grandinetti.
"I'm like a freak for safety," exclaimed event organizer Ian Cairns. "My worst nightmare is someone would come on to this beach and be run over on my watch. And it won't be happening."
The RVs are scheduled to roll in August 18th. They'll be met with banners on the condo telling them they're not welcome on Wildwood's beach.
