Moriarty Reportedly Arrested On DWI Count, Disputes Charge

WASHINGTON TWP., N.J. -

There are reports New Jersey Assemblyman Paul Moriarty has been arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.

Moriarty was reportedly pulled over Tuesday in his hometown of Washington Township in Gloucester County.

Reports say the four-term Democrat refused to take a breathalyzer test, and refusal to do so can result in the same loss of driving privileges as a DWI offense, according to the N.J. Motor Vehicle Commission.

But, in an interview with a local newspaper, Moriarty said he plans on fighting the charges. He said he may even file charges against the officer with the Washington Township Police Department's internal affairs bureau.
