Mother Of Nine Found Shot To Death

Posted: Updated:

Family and friends are reeling over the death of Rohnda Williams.

"Everybody loved her.  Everybody is hurt," said her cousin Lisa Jabbar.

The 46-year-old mother was found shot to death around 2 a.m.  Saturday. Her body found in an alley on the 4200 block of Wayne Avenue.

"How horrible and cold could a person be to do that to a woman," said her cousin Clarene Web. "It's sad! It's sad! These streets is just senseless they kill people for no reason."

Police say a gunshot wound to the back of the head killed the Nicetown woman.

The gunman is still on the run.

Leaving Williams' nine children, ages  30-14, forced to grow up without their mother.

"They  need their mother. They want their mother nobody wants their mom to leave like this," said her cousin Clarene Web.

"You got to think about what you did," said her other cousin Lisa Jabbar. "She got kids out here and you took someone's mom, sister, a favorite cousin. You took my family member away from me for nothing."

Jabbar says her cousin was well liked in the Nicetown neighborhood

Especially since she took pride in it cleaning up the streets, trying to rid the area of empty bottles and other trash.

"She was real loving and caring."

Unfortunately that compassion wasn't given back.

In a neighborhood of makeshift memorials marking past violence....

Rohnda's become the latest statistic in the Nicetown neighborhood she took pride in and spent most of her 46-years of life.
