The 11th District congressional race is definitely a race to watch. For one, Thaddeus McCotter is out, which means no one has the advantage of being an incumbent and this is an open seat. Plus, thanks to redistricting, this is a very different district.
We got a chance to sit down with Democratic candidate Dr. Syed Taj. He says that he believes he'll be able win this race because he thinks he'll get moderate Republican votes.
"I'm talking about legislation to help the people like healthcare, medicare, Social Security, jobs, education. The other side wants to get rid of everything, so that's really a stark difference between the two of us," Taj explained. "You have to learn to compromise. You always have to give in to take something. You can't just say it's my way or the highway."
We repeatedly tried to get in touch with Republican candidate Kerry Bentivolio, but his campaign manager told us he was unavailable.
