22 Charged, 70 Guns Seized After ATF Raid In Philly

PHILADELPHIA -

This may look like an ordinary street in Philadelphia. But officials say one home on the 2000 block of East Atlantic Street was a center for illegal gun-trafficking.

A total of 22 people were charged as a result of a joint undercover investigation between the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and Philadelphia police.

Over 70 guns were seized.

"While we don't have a crystal ball to tell us how many lives were saved or how many shootings were prevented by these arrests, we can say that these semi-automatic rifles, pistols and shotguns are guns that will never be used against our citizens again," ATF Special Agent-in-Charge Sheree L. Mixell said.

All 22 accused criminals are in police custody facing numerous gun-related charges.
