Man In Fight Of His Life Has Wheelchair Stolen

CAMDEN, N.J. -

Thieves steal a local man's prized possession, something he just can't live without.

This is a story that will have you shaking your head. How low does someone have to go to steal a disabled man's wheelchair?

FOX 29's Chris O'Connell spoke to the man Thursday.

As if life in Camden isn't hard enough for Cesar Feliciano, two weeks ago things got even worse.

In the middle of the night someone went into the side alley on Winslow Street and snatched his custom motorized wheelchair.

Suffering from eight brain tumors and spina bifida, Feliciano can't get around without his chair. So these days he's confined to the couch inside his home.

The thief not only took Feliciano's chair but his freedom.

The chair was custom made for Feliciano. It was also outfitted with a stereo system and speakers.

At about $5,000, Feliciano can't afford to buy a new chair. His insurance says it might cover the loss, but he was told that would take two to three months.

In the meantime, he's got a message for the lowlifes who have his chair.

"I would like to say have a heart, you know? I don't bother nobody. I get along with anybody. I try to help out if I can, so return my wheelchair," Feliciano said.
