Jet-Skier Behind Major Airport Security Breach

Posted: Updated:
NEW YORK -

A stranded Jet-Skier seeking help was able to bypass the $100-million, state-of-the-art security system at New York's JFK Airport.

Daniel Castillo's personal watercraft broke down in a waterway near the airport.

He then climbed an 8-foot-high fence that's part of the sophisticated perimeter protection system, but no one noticed.

Castillo then walked across two runways, dripping wet and wearing a fluorescent life vest.

A baggage handler was the first person to finally notice him.

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey says the system exceeds federal standards, but they've ordered an expedited review.

Castillo was charged with criminal trespass.

FOX'S Lisa Evers has more details in this video report.

The weather remains unsettled through most of the work week. The difference is that it will really warm up -- temperatures soar into the 80s by Tuesday.  That mild and humid air mass will fuel afternoon thunderstorms.

By Thursday a cold front moves by bringing more rain.  It will also bring drier and cooler weather by Friday as we finally clear out.
