WHITEHALL, Pa. -

Authorities have released a photograph of the Lehigh County bride who is accused of stabbing her groom-to-be in the heart on their wedding day.

Prosecutors said Na Cola Darcel Franklin, 31, faces one count of criminal homicide.

It was Saturday at 2:19 a.m. when Whitehall police were dispatched for a report of a stabbing at an apartment on the 1500 block of Olympic Circle North. Responding officers found 36-year-old Billy Rafeal Brewster, bleeding from an injury to his torso.

He was rushed to Lehigh Valley Hospital Center but was pronounced dead of his injuries at 3:24 a.m.

"Preliminary investigation revealed Mr. Brewster had sustained two stab wounds to his left torso which resulted in his heart being punctured," prosecutors said in a news release.

Investigation by police and the D.A.'s office resulted in the arrest if Darcel, who was Brewster's fiancée and was supposed to marry him later on Saturday morning.

Instead, Darcel is awaiting arraignment at the prison and prosecutors said she "will not receive bail due to the nature of the offense charged."

Thursday weather looks damp and stormy.  It will be mild and muggy to start with spotty showers early followed by afternoon and evening storms.  Highs in the upper 70s with winds out of the SW 5-10 mph. Some of the storms will produce locally heavy rain and gusty winds.

This system is from the same cold front that caused the midwest tornadoes. It will also usher in cooler air for the holiday weekend.
