Bensalem Police Release Sketch Of Suspect Wanted In Attempted Abduction

Bensalem Police are asking for the public help in identifying a man who tried to pull a 17-year old girl into his car.

The incident occurred on August 13th at approximately 5:15pm in the Nottingham section.

The young woman was in the process of giving directions to the suspect when he grabber her arm and pulled her towards the vehicle.   She was able to break free and run away.

The suspect drove away. 

The following are descriptions of the suspect and vehicle provided by Bensalem Police:

Vehicle description: This is a general description only. Unknown make or model vehicle maroon in color, two doors, with possibly tinted side and rear windows. The victim believes the registration plate had possible letters "SML" in the sequence.

Actor description: A white male in his mid to late forties with brown receding hair.  He had a brown/gray mustache and sideburns that went to the bottom of his ear.  He also had a small, yellow gold hoop earring in his left ear.  The subject was wearing a blue tee shirt and other pieces of clothing were observed in the rear passenger seat of the car.

    It was a gloomy Sunday as the whole area remain socked in with low clouds & fog, drizzle and scattered showers.

    The weather remains unsettled through most of the work week. The difference is that it will really warm up -- temperatures soar into the 80s by Tuesday.  That mild and humid air mass will fuel afternoon thunderstorms.

    By Thursday a cold front moves by bringing more rain.  It will also bring drier and cooler weather by Friday as we finally clear out.
