Fans, Announcers Question Jimmy Rollins' Hustle

Posted: Updated:
PHILADELPHIA -

Jimmy Rollins is feeling the heat from many Phillies fans after a specific play Wednesday in Miami that some say may have cost his team a run and the game.

And a tweet Rollins sent out following the game is not helping matters.

Phillies announcers Tom McCarthy and Gary Matthews weren't the only ones questioning Rollins' hustle on the ground ball to shortstop Jose Reyes while trailing the Marlins 2-1 with one out in the sixth inning.

The Phillies would go on to tie up the game that inning with a bunt single, a walk and an RBI single to the outfield.

Several fans took their frustration to Twitter. Following the play in question, one fan tweeted, "yo, @jimmyrollins11, try runnin out the play man. Youngsters are watching you."

The Phils wound up ultimately losing 9-2 after giving up six runs in the eighth.

Rollins actually responded to the later fan by tweeting, "well u make sure u tell them what to do."

That response did not make many fans very happy.

The message was later deleted from Rollins' account.

Joining "Good Day" Thursday morning to talk more about the incident was FOX 29's Colleen Wolfe. Check out her reaction in the video clip.
