Suspect Wanted For Attacking Woman With Machete

Vineland Police are looking for the man they believe assaulted a woman with a machete.

Police responded to a call about an assault  on 6th and Almond Streets.  when they arrived, they found a 41-year old woman with life-threatening injuries to her face, head, body and hands as a result of a suspected machete. 

A gun was also recovered at the scene.

The woman was transported to a local hospital and is listed in critical condition. 

Police are searching for43-year old Eugene Morales who fled the scene in a black sports utility vehicle.

The vehicle was found a short time later abandoned in Buena Vista Township, Atlantic County, New Jersey.  

Morales has been charged with Attempted Homicide, weapons and other related offenses. Anyone who believes they have seen Morales should immediately contact 911.

    Thursday weather looks damp and stormy.  It will be mild and muggy to start with spotty showers early followed by afternoon and evening storms.  Highs in the upper 70s with winds out of the SW 5-10 mph. Some of the storms will produce locally heavy rain and gusty winds.
