Police Patrol Montco Theater After Carmike Bomb Threats

Posted: Updated:

West Pottsgrove Township Police will be patrolling the Carmike Cinema 12 Theater in the Upland Square shopping plaza through the weekend following a bomb threat called into the theater chain's Georgia-based offices.

FOX News reports the threat was likely called in by a former company employee, saying bombs would explode in nine of the company's theaters across the country.

West Pottsgrove Township Police said the threat called for an attack between 1pm and 1:30pm during the opening of the summer block buster "Expendables 2."

Bomb sniffing dogs were called to the Montgomery County theater to check around for any suspicious packaging but found nothing.  The theater was evacuated in the process.
