Gloucester County authorities have a 15 year old girl in custody for charges of aggravated arson and attempted murder at the home she lived in with her family.
The incident happened early Saturday morning in Clayton. The reason for the fire was not given, but six members of the family, including the suspect, were injured in the fire. Two of the injured were taken from Cooper Medical Center in Camden to the Crozer Burn Center in Upland, PA. A juvenile girl suffered a hip injury after jumping from a second floor window.
Investigators believe that the fire was caused on the second floor where gasoline was ignited.The fire was quickly extinguished in the home by fire fighters.
Smoke alarms awakened family members and members were able to get to safety. The mother and her brother were the most injured, but were said to be the most responsible to the rescue of getting everyone out of the home. Both the mother and her brother are at Crozer Burn Center. The woman's husband and a 9 year old are both at Cooper Medical Center for burn injuries as well.
The suspect is currently at the Camden County Juvenile Detention Center and has a hearing in Family Court in Woodbury on Monday. The motive for the fire has not been given at this time. The identity of the not given because of her age. Officials continue to investigate.
