NORTH PHILADELPHIA -

Officer Moses Walker's last seconds alive were caught on tape early Saturday morning as he walked to a bus stop after work.

Dressed in shorts and a baseball cap, he is seen carrying a backpack. His killers were right behind, stalking him from across the street.

"This is a robbery," said Captain James Clark of the Homicide Unit. "They thought they had a civilian walking down the street with a backpack on."

Police believe the two men followed the 19-year police veteran up the block where one of them pulled out a gun and then shot the officer as he pulled his gun. A witness can be seen fleeing after the shooting.

Now, police have a $88,000 reward posted for information leading to the two killers.

"Getting killers off the street is the business we're in, and if that helps as additional motivation or incentive, so be it," Mayor Michael Nutter said.

Minutes before a late-morning news conference, police stopped a car at 25th and Edgley streets and took a man into custody on a warrant. They do not believe it's related to the murder.

"Several guys in that area that have been doing similar robberies. We've identified them and we're in the process of gathering them up, bringing them in," Clark added.

There has been a pattern of early-morning gun-point robberies as of late. Police took one man into custody on Saturday. He lives a block away from the murder scene. He's wanted for other robberies but not charged in this case.

Police believe the killer lives right in the neighborhood.

"We believe they're from that neighborhood. Somebody can watch them, how they walk, some of their mannerisms, maybe from that they'll call us with a name," Clark said.

Comm. Charles Ramsey said, "if you know something gives us a call and we'll follow up on it."

FOX 29's Dave Schratwieser reported that homicide detectives were questioning several people Monday afternoon, but none of them had been positively identified as a suspect in the officer's shooting death.
