PHILADELPHIA -
An all-out manhunt continues to find the killers of Philadelphia police Officer Moses Walker Jr.
The two men can be seen on surveillance video following the 19-year police force veteran Saturday morning as he walks to catch a bus.
Police say moments later the suspects shot and killed Walker.
FOX 29's Steve Keeley was live at police headquarters Tuesday morning to get an update on the investigation.
"Well, we're getting a lot of calls," Philadelphia Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey said. "The investigators are obviously busy. One of the reasons you see so many cars around here is we had five murders over the weekend, so we've got a lot of cases that we're working, not just the Walker case. But, nevertheless, we've gotten an awful lot of calls. So far, I don't believe we've got the killers in custody or even ID'd – I'll get more of a briefing when I get upstairs in Homicide now, but we'll bring this case in. I have no doubt about that."
Ramsey also talked about the fast increase in the reward money, which was at $88,000 by Monday afternoon.
"So many people have contributed," Ramsey said of the $88,000 reward. "It may be even higher now. But it's just been remarkable. Business, groups, organizations, individuals, it's really been astounding.
Asked about how that shows how much the police are appreciated, Ramsey said, "It does, and it's something that really does give us confidence that when we go out and do our jobs, at least people do care."
Later Tuesday morning, during an appearance on "Good Day," Ramsey said police have new surveillance video investigators expect to release Tuesday that shows better images of the two suspects on their way over to Cecil B. Moore Avenue. He expects to release the video around noontime. We'll bring that video to you as soon as we can.
Mayor Nutter also stopped by Good Day this morning to send a clear message to this city. He told Karen and Mike, "If you want to safer city, every one of us has the power to create the environment that we want."
Police are hoping someone recognizes the suspects in the surveillance video by their clothes or walk.
They also hope a witness seen running away in the video comes forward.
There was a heavy police presence Monday in the area around Woodstock and Cecil B. Moore, where Walker was killed. Police and federal agents were out in force hauling in known criminals in the area.
