Police Release New Surveillance Images In Officer Killing

Posted: Updated:
PHILADELPHIA -

Investigators have released more surveillance footage as they try to track down suspects in the fatal shooting of Officer Moses Walker Jr. over the weekend in North Philadelphia.

A still image was shown to reporters just before a Tuesday morning news conference.

The image is part of new surveillance video uncovered by investigators that captured two men walking northbound on 19th Street.

Police describe the suspects as two black males, one with a bald head, shorts and a light colored hoodie. The other suspect is described as a black male with shorts and a dark colored hoodie.

Police believe Officer Walker saw the suspects before they approached him.

The reward leading to information on the two suspects has now increased to $118,000.

Commissioner Charles Ramsey says an additional $20,000 was offered by local businesses and another $10,000 was donated by an unnamed law enforcement agency.

"Today it's somebody else, tomorrow it could be you, so everyone has a collected interest in getting these guys and people like them off the street," Ramsey said during the news conference.

Anyone with information in the case is urged to call 215-686-TIPS (8477) or text a tip to PPD TIP, or 773847. You can also call the police department's homicide unit at 215-686-3334/3335.
