Vultures Perch On Cumberland County Home

Posted: Updated:
UPPER DEERFIELD, N.J. -

We first showed you earlier this week how vultures are causing thousands of dollars in damages in Montgomery County.

They perch themselves on top of the church next door to the Perkiomen Valley Library, but they feast on the library roof. They've pecked so many holes that water comes gushing in when it rains.

If you think that's bad, take a look at these vultures all perched on top of a house.

A viewer sent us this picture from Upper Deerfield in Cumberland County, New Jersey.

What to do? The U.S. Department of Agriculture says humans need to learn to co-exist with animals, and they offered us some tips.

For instance, you can use a vulture effigy, which is a stuffed vulture carcass. Officials say that will scare the birds away.

You can also use lasers or strobe lights to try and frighten the vultures.

More information on vulture management is available by clicking here.
