The man police believe is the trigger man in last weekend's murder of Officer Moses Walker was still being questioned by homicide detectives late Tuesday night.
After a tip to police, the man was picked up. He was believed to be hiding in a Southwest Philadelphia apartment.
"We believe that he is going to be our shooter" said Philadelphia Police Capt. James Clark.
After a citywide manhunt, United States Marshals zeroed in on the third floor apartment at the Bartram Village public housing complex.
"He is in homicide now. We have detectives speaking with him and we will see in the next couple hours if we have anything more to tell you" said Clark.
Police believe the man, who police have not yet identified, is one of the two seen in surveillance video stalking Officer Walker moments before he was killed. The second suspect is still on the loose.
"We're pleased with the progress but until we have enough to charge there's a lot more work need to be done" said Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey.
Only calling him a person of interest--a source tells Fox 29 the man missed a scheduled probation meeting Tuesday and was taken down by officers about an hour and a half later.
Another man was also taken into custody from Bartram Village but it's not clear why.
"I'm glad this guy is out of the neighborhood why would he be in this neighborhood" said neighbor Alfonzo Reid.
No word on if the near-record $118,000 reward or the hundreds of leads played a role in the arrest. But clearly it's a big break in the case.
"It's significant but again we have a lot of work to do. Our homicide detectives are very good at what they do it's a good solid lead and we'll see where it takes us" said Ramsey.
Since no charges have been filed, FOX 29 is not releasing the name of the person police are questioning. The manhunt for the second suspect continues.

Thursday weather looks damp and stormy. It will be mild and muggy to start with spotty showers early followed by afternoon and evening storms. Highs in the upper 70s with winds out of the SW 5-10 mph. Some of the storms will produce locally heavy rain and gusty winds.
