RICHFIELD, Minn. (KMSP) -
Investigators say inattentive driving may have caused the crash that killed a 51-year-old semi driver from Fridley on Interstate 35W and 66th Street in Richfield on Friday.
Hamed Nahi Alsaady was on the right shoulder of the road inspecting a blown tire when another vehicle drifted to the right, striking and killing Alsaady.
The crash took place just after 7 p.m. Friday and caused many delays.
Officials say a 21-year-old St. Paul woman, identified as Joselyn Racine, in a Dodge Stratus drifted to the right and clipped both Alsaady and the truck. She suffered minor injuries in the crash.
The Richfield Police Department assisted the Minnesota State Patrol at the scene.
