ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie addressed the New Jersey delegation in Florida for the Republican National Convention.

The prominent Republican governor will play a key role at the convention. He will deliver the keynote address on Tuesday night.

"We're here to make sure that people understand what New Jersey Republicanism is all about, and what we stand for, and how we get to accomplish things, and that we make the tough choices and the hard decisions. And we stand by them," Christie said. "We stand for our principles. We compromise where we need to to get things done for the people of our state. But that we never, ever, ever compromise the principles that we ran on."

Christie did not give any information about what the content of his speech will be.
