MTV Cancels 'Jersey Shore'

Posted: Updated:
SEASIDE HEIGHTS, N.J. -

No more Snooki or "The Situation." The cast of MTV's "Jersey Shore" will hang their popped collar polos and leopard-print tube tops after the sixth season.

It's the end of an era, as MTV's highest rated series ever kicks off its final season on Oct. 6.

The show made terms like "guidettes" and "grenades" pop-culture terms, and it made "fist bumps" the norm for fitness buffs.

Snooki, now a mother, has a spin off with "bestie" J-WOWW.

Paulie D, too, has a show on the network.

But their road together will close where it all began, in Seaside Heights, N.J.

MTV will air a look back with the cast on Sept. 6 called "Gym, Tan, Look Back."
