BRUCE, Mich. (WJBK) -
Police are investigating a three-car accident that claimed the life of a 32-year-old Lapeer County man.
Macomb County Sheriff Anthony Wickersham says the accident happened on Van Dyke Road between 34 and 35 Mile Roads around 7 p.m. Thursday.
Wickersham says Michael Bowlsby of Clifford, Mich. was southbound on Van Dyke waiting to turn left into a parking lot when his 2005 Grand Prix was struck from behind by a pick-up truck driven by a 23-year-old Imlay City, Mich. man. The collision pushed Bowlsby's vehicle into the northbound lane where it was struck by an oncoming minivan.
Bowlsby was transported to Henry Ford Macomb Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. It is unknown at this time if he was wearing a seatbelt.
Police say the two other drivers were wearing seatbelts and treated for minor injuries.
Alcohol or drugs do not appear to have been a factor.
