Although attendance at the two-day Made In America Festival was lower than expected, Mayor Michael Nutter on Monday called the music festival a very successful event.
Mayor Nutter appeared on Good Day Monday morning.
According to Nutter, around 41,000 people attended Made in America Saturday while around 39,000 people made it to the event Sunday.
"They (artists) were really blown away by Philly, many had not performed here, many have longstanding relationships here," Nutter said.
Nutter told the Good Day crew he feels the event has "short, medium and long term benefits" for the city.
On the Made in America Festival official website, a message says "see you next year."
Mayor Nutter says the city will evaluate what happened over the last two days. Nutter appeared optimistic in having the festival return to the city next year.
