Philly Sidewalk Cleaned Up For Residents

Posted: Updated:

Fox 29 is getting results for residents who have to walk along a stretch of sidewalk in Philadelphia that was littered with trash and covered with weeds.

Last week, Karen Grant and Nichole Fleming called Fox 29 about the 50-yard stretch of Abbottsford Avenue they travel each day while walking to work.

The sidewalk on the overpass next to Roosevelt Boulevard was covered with weeds, trash and graffiti- forcing pedestrians to detour into traffic just to avoid the mess.

Fox 29's Bruce Gordon made some phone calls and found out the sidewalk maintenance was the responsibility of the Philadelphia Streets Department.

City work crews were out this weekend and the sidewalk is now clean and passable.
