2 Children Rescued From North Philly House Fire

Posted: Updated:
NORTH PHILADELPHIA -

Two children were rescued from a North Philadelphia house fire Wednesday morning.

Fox 29 News has learned there were two children inside of a home on the 1900 block of Susquehanna Street when the fire sparked.

Emergency responders say the children were rescued to safety and were taken to St. Christopher's Hospital. Firefighters say the one-year-old and three-year-old suffered second and third degree burns.

A 61-year-old woman was also rescued from the home and is currently in stable condition.

At one point, it appeared the fire was burning through the first and second floors of the rowhome.

The fire impacted at least two homes in the neighborhood.

Flames and thick black smoke could be seen coming from the home as firefighters quickly worked to break through the roof and fight the fire.
