Two City Council Employees Charged With DUI

Posted: Updated:
PHILADELPHIA -

Robin Jones is Philadelphia City Council president Darrell Clarke's receptionist.

And boy has she made him mad.

"To say I'm pissed off is an understatement. This is clearly a situation," exclaimed Clarke.

He's fuming over what happened on 13th and Hamilton around 3 a.m. Saturday in Spring Garden.

Jones and council sergeant at arms Rodney Williams were both arrested and charged with DUI. Law enforcement sources say Williams was three times the legal limit.

As if that's not bad enough, authorities say both were driving city-owned vehicles without permission.

"They  took two vehicles unauthorized that is an offense punishable by termination," explained Clarke.

Police say Jones took out a street sign, then crashed into a wall claiming she was trying to avoid a biker.

After the wreck she reportedly called police, then Williams who arrived allegedly drunk in another city-owned vehicle.

"There should be some disciplinary action. Them  being city officials they should lead by example." said Jamal Tucker of Philadelphia.

Council President Clarke says Jones' job was already in limbo. She was on probation for things like not coming in on time.

While police comb over the wrecked car at the city garage, the city council president says changes will be made to the city car  check out policy.
