Rough Weather Uproots Tree

Posted: Updated:
PHILADELPHIA -

Yet another round of strong storms ripped through the Delaware Valley on Saturday, causing isolated damage in spots like Philadelphia's Tacony section.

Felix Larius said a powerful rip of wind uprooted a large tree and threw it into the front of his house.

"The wind comes out of nowhere," he said.  "It actually pushed me."

He said he was outside repairing his truck with a friend when he started hearing a cracking sound.

Next thing he knew, it was lodged up by the porch.

Surprisingly it did not damage any of the windows, although many branches came to rest up against the glass.

"I'm still stunned," he said.

"I'm still wondering what I'm going to do now, and what I'm going to do with all that wood."

Larius said family members may help him saw the tree into pieces and haul it away.  No one was hurt when the tree came down.
