PHILADELPHIA -

A special event honoring America's fallen heroes has wound its way through Philadelphia.

It's the "Tour of Duty Ride," a cross-country cycling expedition honoring those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.

Paul Ritchie is the event director. He joined "Good Day" live Monday morning from the steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

The tour began Aug. 12 in San Diego and passes through 16 states. It ends later today in New York City.

The event honors first responders of 9/11, including military, police, firefighters and emergency service workers.

The team consists of American and Australian members, and the event commemorates the special connection between the U.S.A. and Australia.

Participants run their bicycles up the art museum steps like "Rocky" before leaving for NYC.

Funds raised will support the Wounded Warrior Project as well as New York police and fire widows and their children.
