Swarm of bees sting elderly man multiple times

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -

A 90-year-old man was stung multiple times by a swarm of bees outside his home near 69th Street and Camelback Road.

Authorities say the man was outside in his front yard when the attack happened Monday morning.

The victim apparently ran to his car to escape the bees where he called for help.

Scottsdale Fire Department crews attempted to battle the bees with a special foam spray.

We're told the victim may have been trying to remove a bee hive on his own when they swarmed.

"In cases of bees, especially large swarms of bees in your own home, it is better to call a bee removal professional than attempting to do it on your own," said Joseph Early of the Scottsdale Fire Dept.

The victim remains hospitalized in stable condition.  His name was not released.
