Parents Want Answers About NJ Teacher Accused Of Animal Cruelty

Posted: Updated:

Several parents in Camden County want answers about a teacher accused of animal cruelty.

Animal control officials tell Fox 29 reporter Stephanie Esposito that a warrant has been out for more than a year for Magnolia Elementary School teacher Teresa McKinnie. Officials say the warrant was issued because they say she didn't show up to court to face animal cruelty charges.

Charges dating back to August 2011 allege McKinnie didn't provide food, water or shelter for animals she was attempting to sell, according to a Camden County animal cruelty investigator.

Parents said they planned to attend a school board meeting Tuesday night to urge McKinnie to resign.

Multiple calls made to McKinnie's lawyer were not returned.
