Player Discusses Pink Glove Controversy On 'Good Day'

Posted: Updated:
EGG HARBOR CITY, N.J. -

A suburban boy who chose family over football and got benched for it joined "Good Day" on Wednesday morning to discuss the situation.

Julian Connerton, 12, was showing his support for breast cancer survivors, including his mother, by wearing pink gloves.

But his coach told him he couldn't wear the gloves on the field, so Julian quit the Egg Harbor City team.

Paul Burgan, the coach of the Crusaders, says it was all a misunderstanding. He realized his mistake and went to Julian's house to apologize in person.

Julian admits that when his coach said he couldn't wear the gloves, he didn't say anything because he was being respectful.

The 12-year-old talked more about what happened on "Good Day," and he shared his thoughts on his coach's attempt to make amends with a show of support at the team's next game.
