NEWARK, Del. -

Delaware State Police say two men and a woman have been arrested in connection with the robbery and homicide of a Newark 7-Eleven clerk early Wednesday morning.

According to state police, Andre Palmer, 25, of Fairburn, Ga., Vanisha Carson, 25, of New Castle, and Vincent Stallings, 21, of Wilmington, were arrested.

Police say the trio is involved in the Wednesday robbery and homicide of the Four Seasons 7-Eleven and an attempted robbery of the I-95 Service Plaza on Tuesday.

Police say their investigation began Wednesday shortly before 1 a.m. when two male suspects entered the 7-Eleven. The suspects confronted the clerk, Mohammad Rafique Ullah, and demanded money.

Police say one of the suspects, who was wearing a black face mask and armed with a handgun, turned and fired at least one round while leaving the store, hitting Ullah in the chest.

Ullah was found dead at the scene.

Detectives say they later learned of an armed robbery that occurred three hours earlier on Tuesday at the I-95 Service Plaza. Police say in that case, two suspects wearing dark clothing and masks entered the rear door of the service plaza by threatening an employee. The suspects attempted to enter a secure room where a safe was kept.

After failing to get inside of the room, police say the two took off.

Police say a truck driver in the parking lot at the time reported seeing the two suspects enter a black Ford Taurus and head south on I-95.

Investigators were able to review surveillance video and a description of the suspects and the vehicle license plate number from the truck driver and connect the two incidents.

Later Wednesday, police say they took Palmer and Carson into custody. By Thursday morning, police say they were able to take Stallings into custody.
