Vigil Outside Home of Plymouth Township Police Officer Brad Fox

Posted: Updated:

A day after a man gunned down one of their own , Plymouth Township Police suited up outside the police department to honor fellow K9 Officer Brad Fox.  A procession of bikes and cop cars left for a vigil outside Fox's home. Flags and candles lined his street as law enforcement from all over and the community showed support for the fallen officer's family.

"It's a very somber feeling and it's been like this all day," said Tiffany Lauro. Tiffany and her husband Tim live behind Officer Fox.

"We didn't know him as much as we would have liked to but it's nice to know that a hero was behind us the entire time," said Tim. They remember seeing him and his partner Nick often.

"Being behind us, we've actually seen him training his dog and having Nick out there," said Tiffany. Officer Fox was a seven year veteran of the force. Lindsey Prendergast says her brother is a Plymouth cop too so this hits close to home.

"It's devastating so everyone is in shock trying to start the grieving process," said Prendergast. She and others want officer Fox's family to know they salute him and will always honor his memory.

"It's obvious how many people are here to support them so that way they know everybody's here. It looks like I've never seen a community come together like this," said Prendergast.

Officer Fox leaves behind a wife and daughter. His grieving wife is also pregnant with their second child.
