Motorcycle Ride In Honor Of Fallen Plymouth Twp Police Officer

Posted: Updated:

"Plymouth Township has been down here for us every funeral we ever had," said  Philadelphia Police Sergeant Michael Carr as he directed a ride honoring Plymouth Township Police Officer Brad Fox.  Sergeant Carr is overwhelmed by the turnout but saddened by the reason.

"They're good guys and girls and it's our turn to pay our respects to them," said Sergeant Carr.

Motorcycles crammed into the Philadelphia Police Academy parking lot. It's where Officer Fox once trained.

Laura Simpson is with the Motley Cruisers Motorcycle Club. She said, ""It's overwhelming. This whole week has been overwhelming with sadness. It's a very senseless thing that happened."

Riders brought American flags and ribbons bearing the fallen officer's name.

"It's new waters we are treading here especially in Plymouth. He's the first officer to ever die in the line of duty. It's been  tough, " said Sheldon Simpson, a member of Plymouth Council.

Trisha Daley with Motley Cruisers is thinking of the family Officer Fox leaves behind and said, "We're all supportive and  we care about all the officers and their families. We just hope that knowing that everybody is out here supporting them can get them through this time."

The emotion soared to an overwhelming high when community members greeted bikers as they pulled into the Plymouth Township Police Department. Officer Fox's family didn't speak but police thanked the crowd for the family , including Officer Fox's wife who stood at the head of the crowd. They have a young daughter and his wife is pregnant with their second child.

Many say it's now their turn to be there for a department they say has always been there for them. Jackie Mikalonis says Officer Fox was among the officers who helped her when her daughter was murdered. She sobbed, "I hold them in the highest esteem and I always will."
