Shooting On SEPTA Subway

North Philly -

Police swarmed SEPTA's Broad Street line at Susquehanna and Dauphin after shots rang out on-board the subway, endangering dozens of passenger's lives.
.

"One  of those bullets could have came through and got me," said passenger Michael Watson

That's why he's counting his blessings.  As he watched detectives investigate he talked about

seeing teens brawling with each other in the next car, then hearing four gun shots.

At least two of the bullets  critically wounded a 14-year-old and left a

17-year-old in stable condition at Temple.

"I'm just happy to be alive right now," said Watson . "I'm contemplating life as a whole."

Investigators say a fight between rival schools sparked the shooting.

Police searched backpacks, at  least two teens were put in squad cars after being handcuffed and investigators say  one high schooler picked up running away from the scene on neighboring Carlisle street may be able to help them crack the case.

"It was scary! I  never heard a gun before," said Julia Gadonsi.

The gunshots on the train were  one heck of a welcome for Gadonsi and her friend

visiting from Germany. Both were just about to board the subway before the shooting.

"To be honest we think it's a good city. Maybe not this area here,  but downtown we like."

Philadelphia Ceasefire plastered posters near the scene of the crime.

SEPTA's  police chief says more officers are already on the Broad Street and Frankford lines to help curb violence when school lets out.

We deploy based on where they're going and try and
prevent the problems," explained Chief Tom Nestel.
